Gujarat Lions, the second new team in this edition of the Indian Premier League, started their campaign on a high with a wonderful five-wicket victory over Kings XI Punjab in Mohali.
Gujarat Lions won the toss and chose to bowl first but Murali Vijay and Manan Vohra stitched a 78-run stand for the opening wicket. Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo pegged them back with regular wickets. Bravo was the pick of the bowlers with 4/22 and in the process, he became the first bowler to go past 300 wickets.
Chasing 162, Aaron Finch gave Gujarat Lions a rousing start with a wonderful 74 off 47 balls to give the team a five-wicket win.
