A bench of justices S Muralidhar and Vibhu Bakhru directed Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) to extend "full co-operation" to Justice Mudgal, who was also a judge of the Delhi High Court before his elevation as the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
"Accordingly, Justice Mukul Mudgal is requested to continue as observer in pursuance to the November 18, 2015 order. DDCA will extend full co-operation to him," the bench said.
On November 18 last year, the high court had paved the way for DDCA to hold the India-South Africa Test match at Ferozeshah Kotla and appointed Justice Mudgal to oversee the affairs of the match.
It had also said that his remuneration for the assignment will be decided by him only and DDCA will pay the same to him.
The retired judge, who was also an observer for the recently concluded World Twenty20 matches in the national capital, had headed the Supreme Court-appointed panel to inquire into the allegations of corruption against former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief N. Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan, India Cements, and others and charges of betting and spot fixing in the 2013 IPL matches.
