Yusuf Pathan's Fastest IPL 50 Fires Kolkata Knight Riders to Second Spot

After all, it is not everyday that a batsman slams the quickest fifty in the Indian Premier League - off 15 balls. And Yusuf Pathan did it in explosive style to leave the Sunrisers Hyderabad in absolute shambles.

Kolkata needed to score 161 in 15.2 overs to take second spot in the IPL points table.  By the time Yusuf was done with his fireworks - 72 off 22 - it was game, set and match to Kolkata. The encounter was done and dusted in 14.2!

The only disappointed faces in the ground belonged to the Sunrisers Hyderabad camp.  They were partially responsible for the carnage as they invited Yusuf to smack seven sixes and five fours - by dropping him twice.

Dale Steyn was the primary culprit. Not only did he spill a simple catch offered by Yusuf, he also gave away 43 in his four, including 26 in an over.

Steyn, though, was not the only bowler who was ripped apart as both spinners as well as the other pacers were destroyed completely.

With Kolkata storming into second position, their fans would know that if they lose the qualifier from here on, they'll have a saviour in Yusuf to thank for when the second chance comes calling.
