Former BCCI president Shashank Manohar wants all IPL 2013 matches probed

Former Board of Control for Cricket in India president Shashank Manohar feels that the help of external agencies to investigate all Indian Premier League matches this year can go a long way in helping keep cricket clean.

In a report published in the Times of India, Manohar has been quoted as saying that the BCCI should deal with the menace of spot-fixing with an iron fist. "The BCCI should immediately file a criminal complaint with the investigating agencies, urging them to probe all 75 games [76] in the current IPL edition. It has to deal with this menace with an iron fist. The board or ACSU do not have any machinery or legal authority to track the illegal activities, so it should not depend on these agencies alone." While the BCCI has set-up a three-member independent committee to look into the allegations of betting against 'CSK enthusiast' and N Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan, Manohar says the Board should help investigating agencies assess every match of the IPL. "The board should provide them (the investigating agency) with a raw feed of the games as well as CCTV footage recorded at every venue."

BCCI chief Srinivasan had earlier said that the Board remains committed in extending support to investigating agencies and that its own probe will be fair. NDTV learnt from sources on Monday that BCCI treasurer Ajay Shirke and former cricketer Ravi Shastri will be in the three-member committee along with a retired High Court judge.
