Rajasthan Royals owed their win against Royal Challengers Bangalore to Sanju Samson who struck a 41-ball 63, and an all-round show of Shane Watson, who hit 31-ball 41 and picked up three for 22.

Jaipur:

Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli said his team was 10-15 runs short as Rajasthan Royals pulled off a stunning four-wicket win with a ball to spare in their Indian Premier League match at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur on Monday.

Rajasthan Royals made 173 for six with a ball to spare in reply to Royal Challengers Bangalore' 171 for six in 20 overs.

Rajasthan Royals owed their win to Sanju Samson who struck a 41-ball 63, and an all-round show of Shane Watson, who hit 31-ball 41 and picked up three for 22.

"Another loss unfortunately. We were 10-15 runs short. Rajasthan batted really well. I got out at the wrong time, one batsman who could have added another 20-30 runs could have changed things," said Kohli after the match.

The Indian cricket star felt his bowlers erred in their length while defending the total.

"We got really excited looking at the wicket, didn't bowl at a good length. We bowled really short initially and gave many boundaries," he said.

Rajasthan Royals skipper Rahul Dravid said his team was on the backfoot when Chris Gayle was batting.

"We were on the backfoot in the first six overs, with Gayle going the way he did. The way we batted in the first six, and the way Sanju batted, we just seemed in control right through. With 13 in two overs, I thought it was going to comfortable. We need to focus a game at a time. Lot of cricket left to be played."

Man of the Match Sanju Samson, who struck his maiden Indian Premier League fifty, said it was his day.

"I would like to thank my family, my team. I was prepared for it and it's my day. I was trying to get maximum runs in the Powerplay," he said.
