Sri Lanka skipper Mahela Jayawardena lauded his team's effort against India in the second ODI on Tuesday. The hosts in Hambantota registered a massive 9-wicket win after losing the opening ODI.
Jayawardena said that it was heartening to see the will to bounce back from tough situations. " It is great that the team fought well and came back after the loss on Saturday. There is a hunger in the side and it is always a good thing to have," he said in the post match ceremony.
Sri Lanka restricted India to 138 after having lost the toss and being asked to bowl. Jayawardena marshaled his resources well and his bowlers responded with Thisara Perera and Angelo Matthews claiming three wickets each. "They bowled well. It is also good to see that Upul Tharanga scored some runs today. He has had a tough year but he played well today," said the skipper who now has his team back on level peggings in the 5-match series.
