Honours in T20 international clashes between India and Sri Lanka are even. On Tuesday, it may change in favour of either the hosts or the visitors as the two teams lock horn in the shortest format, in Kandy.
While the two sides have won 2 games apiece against each other, Sri Lanka have a better overall winning percentage in T20s albeit marginally. India has a success percentage of 53.03 against that of 60 of their opponents, with 17 wins in 34 matches. A match ended in a draw and another had no result.
Sri Lanka on the other hand, have won 24 of their 40 T20 matches and have lost all the remaining.
MS Dhoni and his side managed to script a 4-1 series win in the recently concluded ODI series and still, however, continue to hold the edge against Sri Lanka going into the only T20 of the tour. This despite having lost two if the three T20s played so far, this year.
While statistical numbers cannot predict the outcome in cricket, this may be taken as a rough estimation of how the teams stand before the start of the T20.
