# The Lord's Test would be the 2000th in the history of Test Cricket.
# The Lord's Test would be India's 100th against England. For the first time, India would be playing 100 Tests against one nation.
# India have won 19 Tests against England, lost 34 and drawn 46 out of 99 played - winning % 19.19.
# In case of a win at Lord's, India would set a record for most wins against one nation. India have won 20 Tests against Australia.
# In case of a hundred, Sachin Tendulkar would be registering his first at Lord's apart from the 100th international century.
# Sachin Tendulkar has never posted a fifty in four Tests at Lord's Cricket Ground. His seven scores at this venue have been 10 & 27 in 1990; 31 in 1996; 16 & 12 in 2002 and 37 & 16 in 2007. His aggregate reads 149 in seven innings at an average of 21.28, the strike rate being 42.32.
# Kevin Pietersen (5828) requires 172 runs to complete his 6,000 runs in Tests.
# Pietersen would be the 12th batsman to complete 6,000 runs or more in Tests for England. Graham Gooch (8900), Alec Stewart (8463), David Gower (8231) and Geoff Boycott (8114) are the four English players to have amassed 8000 runs or more in Tests.
# Jonathan Trott (1867 runs in 21 Tests) needs 133 runs to complete 2000 runs.
# In case Alastair Cook posts a fifty, he would be equalling a world record for most consecutive fifties (seven), shared by Sir Everton Weekes (West Indies) between 1948 & 1949, Andy Flower (Zimbabwe) between 2000 & 2001 and Shivnarine Chanderpaul (West Indies) between 2006 & 2007
# Harbhajan Singh has captured 41 wickets (ave.33.98) in 11 Tests against England. In case of just one wicket, he would be establishing an Indian record for the most wickets by an off-spinner against England. Prasanna took 41 (ave.32.37) in 13 Tests against England.
# VVS Laxman, in case of a hundred, would be registering his first against England. In 13 Tests, he has aggregated 584 runs at an average of 34.35, including four fifties, with a highest of 75 at Ahmedabad in December 2001.
# Dravid is all set to complete 1,000 runs in England. His present tally is 915 at an average of 65.35 in 9 Tests, including three hundreds and four fifties. Dravid would be the third Indian to aggregate 1,000 runs in England behind Sachin (1302) and Sunil Gavaskar (1152).
# In case of a hundred, Sachin would be establishing a record for most hundreds by an Indian batsman against England in England. Both Dilip Vengsarkar and Sachin have recorded four hundreds each in England.
# Zaheer Khan (29 wickets (ave.29.27) in seven Tests) requires 15 wickets in the four-Test series to become the leading Indian bowler against England in England. Kapil Dev had claimed 43 wickets at 39.18 runs apiece in 13 Tests in England.
# Mahendra Singh Dhoni (3022 runs + 185 dismissals in 57 Tests) needs just 15 dismissals in the series to become the first Indian wicketkeeper to complete the double of 3,000 runs and 200 dismissals in Tests.
# Just for the record, Syed Kirmani (160 ct. + 38 stumpings), with 198 dismissals in 88 Tests, holds an Indian record for most dismissals.
# Dhoni, in case of one catch, would be establishing a record for most catches by an Indian wicketkeeper. Both Dhoni and Kirmani have 160 catches to their credit in Tests. Dhoni's tally of 25 stumpings is the second highest by an Indian wicketkeeper, next only to Kirmani's 38.
