Australian skipper Michael Clarke said on Saturday that he is pleased with his dual role of being the captain and the selector of the national team.
After his team's win against India on Saturday, a jubilant Clarke said his relationship with selectors, coach and players has been very pleasing. "I think it has been good to be able to voice my opinion as part of the selection panel. You are one of five though, so the selectors, if they disagree, I have only got my one vote," he said.
Clarke however said he could not predict if this would be successful in the Indian context. "I can't talk for other teams because I don't
know how their selection works."
Australia increased rating points after the Adelaide win to finish a fraction short of India in the ICC rankings. "We're currently ranked fourth in the world so we've got a hell of a lot of work to do to get back to where I'd love to see this team going," he said.
Australia have 110.80 rating points while India have slid and now have 111.10.
