Cash reward for Indian hockey team after thumping win

New Delhi :

India's 4-1 win over Pakistan in the high profile match has not only won them accolades from millions of fans but has also resulted in some inflow of cash rewards.

Sahara India, also the sponsors of the India hockey team, has announced a reward of Rs 2 lac each while Suresh Kalmadi, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) chief, declared a cash prize of Rs 1 lac for every member of the hockey team.

Playing in their first match of the World Cup 2010, India managed to register a thumping 4-1 victory over Pakistan to start off strongly in the tournament.

Sandeep Singh struck twice while Shivendra Singh and Prabhjot Singh, each, found the net once to help India pass their first test in the World Cup with flying colors.
