Jaipur:
Jaipur saw some thrilling motorcycle racing in Round 5 of the National Motocross Championships on Sunday.
As 60 of the country's finest riders competed on foreign and Indian bikes, the action was fast and furious.
The loose desert sands of the 800 metre dirt track in Jaipur with a combination of 18 jumps, 2 double jumps and 3 table tops contributed to the thrills.
Thrilling track
Despite the sandy track, the riders came up with some audacious jumps.
But the day belonged to Bangalore boy CS Santosh who won three races on his 250 cc bike and has become the clear leader after the Jaipur round.
"The greater the challenge, the sweeter is the victory. I think the track here is awesome and the crowd very encouraging.
"They really seem to love motorsports. The track has lots of sand, so technically it's tough to ride but it was great for all riders here," said Santosh of the TVS Team.
Inspired lot
Despite their spectacular racing, Indian riders have not done well internationally. But Narain Karthikeyan's success in Formula One Racing is now a huge inspiration for riders to win global laurels.
"Narain is doing great and he being an Indian, we feel really proud that he is now at a world level. So we hope that we too can do something and reach that kind of position and get a name for India in motorsports," said Vijay Kumar, National Motocross Champion.
Speed enthusiasts in Jaipur have seen motor-racing after three years. And the action now shifts to Bangalore which will host the finals of the national championships in December.
