Colin Edwards upstages Rossi

Colin Edwards upstaged both Yamaha teammate Valentino Rossi and the new MotoGP world champion, Nicky Hayden, with a blistering lap on the first day of the Official Test event in Qatar on Tuesday. The 32 year-old American clocked 1 minute 56.774 seconds around the 5380 metre (3.343 mile) Losail International Circuit in Doha, over a tenth of a second quicker than Italy's five-time world champion Rossi. Casey Stoner of Australia was third fastest for Ducati, ahead of Kenny Roberts Jr., the 'Kentucky Kid', Hayden, and John Hopkins, four US riders making the top six.
