London:

Tottenham will be without winger Gareth Bale for the last three matches of the season due to an ankle injury.

The Premier League club announced Monday that Bale ruptured a ligament in his left ankle in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Blackpool.

That draw means it is unlikely Tottenham will be able to overhaul Manchester City for the final Champions League spot. Spurs are six points behind City ahead of their meeting on Tuesday.

Bale is expected to be fit for the start of preseason in July.
