Lionel Messi's second day in India passed smoothly in Mumbai, after a chaotic opening to his three-day tour. He met cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and veteran India striker Sunil Chhetri. Messi, who was accompanied by his Inter Miami teammates Luis Suarez and Rodrigo de Paul, greeted excited fans and kicked footballs into the crowd. Argentina's World Cup-winning captain was also felicitated by Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, who presented him with a special memento. Tendulkar presented Messi with his iconic number 10 jersey from India's 2011 World Cup triumph, before receiving an official 2026 FIFA World Cup match ball from him. In short, it was an eventful day!

"The traffic police have designated three parking areas, including P1 near Vikram Nagar. These are the main parking zones for labelled vehicles. Vehicles without labels should be parked at the Rajghat Powerhouse parking lot and Mata Sundari Lane, from where pedestrians can walk to the event. App-based taxi users are also advised to drop off at Rajghat Chowk and walk the rest of the way. Accompanied by Inter Miami teammates Luis Suarez and Rodrigo de Paul, Lionel Messi is expected to arrive at the iconic Wankhede Stadium around 5 pm for the main event of the 'GOAT India Tour'.

Mumbai Police have put in place stringent security arrangements, including restrictions on carrying water bottles, metal objects and coins inside the venues, while watchtowers have also been set up to monitor the crowd. Expecting heavy crowd near the stadiums during Messi's visit, the city police force has deployed more than 2,000 personnel in and around both the venues. "Considering the chaos that prevailed in Kolkata and the security breach, we have deployed World Cup-level security arrangements at Brabourne and Wankhede stadiums," a police official said.

The World Cup-winning Argentine captain Lionel Messi is scheduled to head to the Taj Colaba for a brief rest before proceeding to the Cricket Club of India (Brabourne Stadium), where he will attend a Padel GOAT Club event, followed by a celebrity football match later in the afternoon.

While Lionel Messi landed in Mumbai, event organiser Satadru Dutta has been denied bail after his arrest in Kolkata. Dutta was arrested after the violence erupted at the Salt Lake Stadium. According to a report by NDTV, Dutta has been sent to a 14-day police custody. 

Lionel Messi is expected to arrive at the Wankhede Stadium at 5:40 PM after concluding the Padel Exhibition match at the Cricket Club Of India. There, he is expected to be joined by Shah Rukh Khan and Sachin Tendulkar. At Wankhede, a seven-a-side football exhibition match has been planned. Many Bollywood celebrities are expected to participate. 

As everyone was speculating a meeting between Virat Kohli and Lionel Messi in Mumbai, the lid has now been removed. Kohli and wife Anushka Sharma have now landed in Delhi, It is being believed that Kohli is in Delhi for the Vijay Hazare Trophy. However, Messi is also set to visit Delhi on Monday. But, currently there's no confirmation regarding their meet.

After the violent chaos at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata yesterday, the organisers have become more careful for the Mumbai leg. Ahead of Lionel Messi's arrival in the city, more than 2,000 police personnel have been deployed in and around the Brabourne (CCI) and Wankhede Stadiums. There are also watchtowers, barricades and public announcement systems to closely monitor crowd movement.

Lionel Messi is expected to reach Mumbai just before noon. He is expected to rest for a bit before the events for the day start around 3:30 PM,

The closed-door charity fashion show and auction, where memorabilia from Argentina's 2022 FIFA World Cup victory will be showcased, is expected to be attended by actors like Jackie Shroff, John Abraham and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Even the pedal match is expected to see Sachin Tendulkar and Shah Rukh Khan in the stands.

Lionel Messi had a special message for the fans in Hyderabad. "I am very happy to be in Hyderabad in the midst of all the love and affection shown by you all," Messi said through a translator while addressing the crowd.

The tour got off to a controversial start as the event in Kolkata descended into chaos amid allegations of major mismanagement from the organisers. Later, the legendary Argentina footballer travelled to Hyderabad and played in an exhibition football match featuring Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
