German football chiefs on Thursday expressed their confidence of winning the bid to host Euro 2024 following an agreement reached with their Engish counterparts.
"Altogether I think we have a very, very good chance of hosting Euro 2024," DFB general secretary Helmut Sandrock told Sport Bild magazine. (Also read: Argentina defeat Germany in international friendly)
Sandrock's optimism is based on an agreement reached with their English rivals.
"We discussed with them about their not bidding for Euro 2024 and supporting our bid," Sandrock said.
"We would in return not bid for the finals package of 2020 and support England in a bid for Euro 2028."
The deal could see the semi-finals and finals of Euro 2020 take place in England, at Wembley.
European football's governing body UEFA will reveal the final list of venues for Euro 2020 on September 19.
UEFA president Michel Platini wants a Europe-wide competition to mark the 60th anniversary of the championship, involving 24 nations, spread across 13 cities around Europe.
France will host the 2016 event, where 24 countries will also participate.
Germany have already hosted two World Cups in 1974 and 2006 and the European Championship in 1988.
