The Los Angeles Galaxy will host FA Cup finalists Manchester City in a friendly on July 24 at the Major League Soccer club's Home Depot Center ground.
The match announced on Thursday is part of a pre-season tournament called the World Football Challenge, which also includes Champions League finalists Manchester United and Barcelona, Real Madrid, the New England Revolution, Chicago Fire and Vancouver Whitecaps, and Mexico's Chivas and America.
The Galaxy announced last week they will play Real Madrid, runners-up to Barcelona in the Spanish title race, on July 16 at the Los Angeles Coliseum.
Preparing for its first season in the Champions League, Manchester City already had scheduled a July 18 game at Vancouver.
England's Premier League kicks off on August 13.
The Galaxy are one of the glamour teams of MLS, thanks to their English import David Beckham and US star Landon Donovan.
Former England captain Beckham is in the last year of his five-year deal with the US club, and still hoping to end his tenure by taking an MLS title.
