India have retained the bulk of the Test squad currently in the Caribbean for the two T20 matches against the West Indies later this month in the United States. Mahendra Singh Dhoni will travel to lead Team India.
Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina do not find themselves in the 14-man squad. Both were part of India's squad for the World T20 in March-April this year. Youngsters like Hardik Pandya, Pawan Negi and Manish Pandey, all part of the World Cup squad, have also been ignored.
Yuvraj and Raina will be playing the Duleep Trophy. They will lead the India Red and India Green teams, respectively.
There is no place for Harbhajan Singh too. More than form, the selectors seem to have taken logistics into account when naming the side. Apart from Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah will travel to Florida for the couple of matches on August 27 and 28.
M Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Shardul Thakur, Ishant Sharma and Wriddhiman Saha will return after the fourth and final West Indies Test in Port of Spain, which is scheduled to end on August 22.
India squad for T20s: Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Amit Mishra, Stuart Binny.
