Yashpal Singh hits unbeaten 250; Services declare on 563/4

Yashpal Singh smashed an unbeaten double century while Rajat Paliwal also scored a ton as Services piled on a mammoth 564 for four before declaring their first innings on the second day of their four-day Ranji Trophy Group C match on Sunday.
Yashpal, who was unbeaten on 110 off 191 balls yesterday, added another 140 runs from 170 runs today to remain not out on 250 when his side declared their innings after facing 152 overs in the final session at Maharaja Bir Bikram College Stadium.
He hit 17 fours and three sixes today to his overall 31 fours and five sixes in his six-hour knock.
Paliwal, who joined Yashpal in the opening session after Ansuhl Gupta fell for 147, also remained not out on 104 from 155 balls, hitting 16 fours.
Yashpal and Paliwal shared 206 runs from 44.4 overs for the unbroken fifth wicket.
In reply, Tripura were 53 for no loss in 24 overs with Subhrajit Roy and Samrat Singha were batting on 38 and 13 respectively when the stumps were drawn.
In the morning, the massive partnership between Yashpal and Anshul ended with the latter falling after adding 35 runs to his overnight unbeaten score of 112. The duo stitched 291 runs for the fourth wicket and Services were 357 for four when Anshul was out.
Tripura bowlers toiled hard for the whole day just like yesterday and only Tushar Saha was able to get a wicket --that of Anshul.
