Dharamsala:
Deccan Chargers captain Adam Gilchrist expressed confidence of beating Kings XI Punjab in Friday's Indian Premier League match, saying his team was getting better with every match.
"Our players are peaking at the right time in the tournament. Every player of the team is contributing in team's good performance," Gilchrist told reporters after the net session.
The Chargers have lost half of the 12 matches they have played so far but are still hanging on for a place in the semifinals.
The defending champions looked better of late, winning their last three matches on the trot to join the race for the semifinal place and Gilchrist said things were looking better now.
"The team is gradually getting better," he said.
Gilchrist expects net run rate to come into the picture and said his team would strive for a thumping win tomorrow.
The Australia praised the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) stadium nestled in the foothills of the mighty Dhauladhar mountains here and predicted a run-feast in the small ground.
Apart from the Chargers, Kings XI Punjab players also practised at the nets on the eve of what would be the first IPL match at the venue.
BCCI president Shashank Manohar, secretary N Srinivas and and Delhi and District Cricket Association chief Arun Jaitley are expected to be here during the match and tight security is in place around the stadium for the game.
