VVS Laxman Awarded Honorary Doctorate
VVS Laxman played 134 Tests for India from 1996 to 2012, scoring 17 centuries with a personal best of 281 against Australia.

New Delhi:
Former cricketer V.V.S. Laxman was awarded an honorary doctorate at the seventh convocation ceremony of TERI University here on Wednesday.
Three others also received the honour -- former president of East Timor Jose Manuel Ramos-Horta, Unilever CEO Paul Polman, and Hitachi chairman Hiroaki Nakanishi.(Lamxan Nominated Swachh Bharat Ambassador)

Accepting the doctorate, Laxman said: "I am happy because I wanted to become a doctor but realised my dream to play for the country. This is the right time for the youth to realise their personal aspirations and bring glory to the nation."
