England middle-order batsman Kevin Pietersen vows to continue playing cricket for another three to four years despite having a troubled knee that raises question about his future.
"I wouldn't say I'm getting on, I'm only 33, so I'd love to play for another three to four years Test cricket. I'd love to play the 2015 World Cup as well. So there's quite a few things I'm really looking forward to," Kevin Pietersen was quoted as saying by the metro.co.uk.
The stylish batsman also said that his aim is to score at least 10,000 runs in the Test format before calling it quits.
"I'm as fresh as ever in terms of wanting to score runs. I'd love 10,000 Test runs, I really would. But you've got to stay in form, stay injury free - I've been hampered by injuries the last few years," Pietersen added. He has 7887 runs from 99 Tests.
KP was also delighted with the way England won the Ashes series at home and hopes to do well Down Under when England travel to Australia for a return series in November.
"It's a great feeling. You always enjoy it when you're winning - we're 3-0 up. We play really tough cricket against each other. The Ashes is what you play cricket for," he said.
"It's been a great series and it bodes well for a fascinating series Down Under as well. We're going to have to play some very good cricket because this is a good Australian side. We've won some very, very key stages over the last four Tests and that's where it counted," added the 33-year-old.
