South Africa's triumph is their 12th in 25 Tests against India - lost six and drawn seven - success %48.00.
 
Under Graeme Smith's leadership, South Africa have won 38, lost 23 and drawn 20 out of 81 played - success % 46.91.
 
Jacques Kallis has received his 21st Man of the Match award - the most by any player, extending his world record.
 
The top five players with most Man of the Match awards are Jacques Kallis (21)  Muttiah Muralitharan (19), Wasim Akram (17) and Shane Warne (17) and Ricky Ponting (16).
 
Kallis became the third South African all-rounder to register a double hundred and bag two wickets in the same Test match - the first two were Aubrey Faulkner against Australia at Melbourne in 1910-11 and Eddie Barlow against Australia at Adelaide in 1963-64.
 
Kallis has averaged 65.01 for winning cause - 5591 in 69 Tests, including 19 centuries and 26 fifties.
 
South Africa's convincing win by an innings and 25 runs is their third largest over India in Tests, next only to the their victory by an innings and 90 runs at Ahmedabad in 2007-08 and by an innings and 71 runs at Bangalore in 1999-00.
 
South Africa's triumph in the Centurion Test is their fourth by an innings margin against India - their first against India in South Africa
 
India have lost three, won 13 and drawn six out of 22 contested under Dhoni's captaincy - winning % 59.09.
 
India (459) have posted their highest total against South Africa in South Africa, outstripping the 414 at Cape Town in 2006-07.
 
India's aforesaid score is the highest when they have lost by an innings margin.
 
Sachin Tendulkar's 50th century (111 not out) is his fourth hundred in South Africa. In the past, only two batsmen had recorded four hundreds against South Africa in South Africa - England's Wally Hammond and Australia's Neil Harvey.
