Statistical Highlights: India vs SL, 1st ODI
Here are the statistical highlights of the first ODI between India and Sri Lanka on Tuesday.

India's three-run triumph is their narrowest victory margin over Sri Lanka in India - the previous narrowest margin being the six-run victory at Ahmedabad on October 22, 1989.
Just for the record, India's narrowest vicory-margin over Sri Lanka is by one run at Colombo RPS on July 25, 1993.
The Rajkot ODI has provided only the second instance when both the teams have posted 400-plus in the same match. The first instance being the Australia-South Africa game at Johannesburg on March 12, 2006 (Australia 434/4 and South Africa 438 for 9).
The match aggregate of 825 for 15 wickets is the highest on Indian soil and the second highest in ODIs, next only to the 872 for 13 in the aforesaid game at Johannesburg.
Sri Lanka became the first team to register a total of 400 in the second innings and lost the game. Their total of 411 for eight is the second highest by a team while batting second in ODIs, next only to the South Africa's 438 for nine against Australia at Johannesburg on March 12, 2006.
Sri Lanka became the first team to post a total of 400 or more against India in ODIs.
India (414/7) have registered their highest total in One Day Internationals, bettering the 413 for five against Bermuda in the World Cup at Port of Spain on March 19, 2007.
India's aforesaid total is the fifth highest in ODIs - the top four being Sri Lanka's 443 for 9 against Netherlands at Amstelveen on July 4, 2006; South Africa's 438 for 9 against Australia at Johannesburg on March 12,2006; Australa's 434 for four against South Africa at Johannesburg on March 12, 2006 and South Africa's 418 for 5 against Zimbabwe at Potchefestroom on September 20, 2006.
India, South Africa and Sri Lanka have recorded two totals of 400 and more while New Zealand and Australia one ech.
India's total of 414 for seven is the highest by any team against Sri Lanka. The previous highest against Sri Lanka was also scored by India - 373 for six at Taunton on May 26, 1999.

Sachin Tendulkar (69 off 63 balls) became the first player to appear in 600 international games - the break-up being 437 ODIs, 162 Tests and one Twenty20 International.
Tendulkar's 92nd fifty is his 16th against Sri Lanka.
Tendulkar has extended his record for the highest run-aggregate against Sri Lanka - 2818 in 75 matches at an average of 44.73. His tally of eight hundreds is a record by any batsman against Sri Lanka - the next best is Pakistan's Saeed Anwar with seven hundreds.
In terms of averages, the calendar year 2009 is Tendulkar's best in six years, aggregating 825 in 18 matches at an average of 51.56, including three centuries and two fifties.
While batting at number two position, Tendulkar averages 50.42 - 12,506 in 267 matches, including 39 centuries and 62 fifties.
Virender Sehwag's 12th century in ODIs is his second against Sri Lanka.
Sehwag's 66-ball hundred is the fastest by an Indian against Sri Lanka - the joint-fourth fastest for India. Sehwag's 60-ball hundred against New Zealand at Hamilton on March 11, 2009 is the fastest by an Indian, followed by Mohammad Azharuddin - 62 balls against New Zealand at Baroda on December 17,1988, Yuvraj Singh - 64 balls against England at Rajkot on November 14,2008 and Suresh Raina - 66 balls against Hong Kong at Karachi on June 25, 2008.
Sehwag (146 off 102 balls) has posted his career-best innings - his previous highest being 130 against New Zealand at Hyderabad on November 15, 2003.
Sehwag has averaged 50.13 in 2009 - 752 in 16 matches, including three hundreds and two fifties.
Sehwag, under Dhoni's captaincy, averages 47.86 - 1723 in 37 matches, including four hundreds and ten fifties, with an exceptional strike rate of 124.13.
Sehwag has recorded five centuries while batting at number one; six centuries at number two and the remaining one at one-down.
Tendulkar and Sehwag have recorded 153 - India's best against Sri Lanka at Rajkot and the fourth partnership of 100 or more at this venue for India.
India's previous best opening stand against Sri Lanka at this venue was 122 between Manoj Prabhakar and Navjot Singh Sidhu on February 15, 1994.
India's best opening stand at this venue is 196 between Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag against West Indies on November 12, 2002, the second best being the 153 (as above).
Sehwag and Dhoni have shared a stand of 156 - the best for the second wicket at Rajkot, eclipsing the 109 between Nathan Astle and Roger Twose for New Zealand against India on November 5,1999.
India's previous best for the second wicket at this venue was 84 between Raman Lamba and Mohammad Azharuddin against Australia on October 7, 1986.
For the fifth time, an Indian pair has recorded a 150-plus stand for the second wicket against Sri Lanka - the best being the 318 between Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid at Taunton on May 26,1999.
For the first time in ODIs, two partnerships of 150 or more have been recorded for the first two wickets in ODIs.
Sanath Jayasuriya's economy rate of 10.85 (7-0-76-0) is his worst when he has conceded 50 runs or more in an innings.
Jayasuriya, for the first time, has conceded 75 runs or more without taking a single wicket - his previous worst being 10-0-73-0 against Africa XI at Chennai on June 10, 2007.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni has become the eighth Indian to complete 5,000 runs in ODIs, joining Sachin Tendulkar (17247), Sourav Ganguly (11363), Rahul Dravid (10765), Mohammad Azharuddin (9378), Yuvraj Singh (7226), Virender Sehwag (6876) and Ajay Jadeja (5359).
Dhoni (5026) is the fourth wicketkeeper to make 5,000 runs as wicketkeeper, joining Adam Gilchrist (9410), Kumar Sangakkara (6767) and Andy Flower (5845)
Dhoni is the only wicketkeeper to have averaged 50.00 (50.26) apart from making 5000 runs in 152 ODIs.
Dhoni's aggregate of 1091 (ave.68.18) in 27 matches is the third best in 2009. Only two Australians have amassed more than Dhoni - Ricky Ponting (1198) and Michael Hussey (1166).
Tillakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga have shared a stand of 188 - Sri Lanka's highest against India for the first wicket, eclipsing the 137 between Sanath Jayasuriya and Marvan Atapattu at Colombo RPS in the Asia Cup on July 26, 1997.
Overall, the aforesaid stand is Sri Lanka's second best for any wicket against India - the highest ever being the 226 between Mahela Jayawardene and Marvan Atapattu for the third wicket at Sharjah on October 27, 2000.
Dilshan's 73-ball hundred is the fastest by a Sri Lankan player against India, surpassing Sanath Jayasuriya's 79-ball century at Karachi on July 6, 2008.
Dilshan's first hundred against India is his fourth in ODIs.
Dilshan's career-best 160 off 124 balls is the second highest score for Sri Lanka, next only to the 189 by Sanath Jayasuriya against India at Sharjah on October 29, 2000.
Dilshan's aforesaid innings is the fifth best on Indian soil - the top four innings being the 194 by Saeed Anwar (Pakistan) against India at Chennai on May 21, 1997, 186 not out by Sachin Tendulkar (India) against New Zealand at Hyderabad on November 8, 1999, 183 not out by Mahendra Singh Dhoni (India) against Sri Lanka at Jaipur on October 31, 2005 and 175 by Sachin Tendulkar (India) against Australia at Hyderabad on November 5, 2009.
Dilshan's knock is now the second best by a visiting batsman against India in India.
Tharanga's 12th fifty is his second against India.
Kumar Sangakkara (90) became the second Sri Lankan captain to be dismissed in the nervous nineties in India - the first being Arjuna Ranatunga - 98 at Hyderabad on February 18, 1994.
Dhoni (51) became the fifth wicketkeeper to effect 50 stumpings in ODIs, joining Romesh Kaluwitharana (75), Moin Khan (73), Kumar Sangakkara (64) and Adam Gilchrist (55).
Dhoni, with his aforesaid performance, became the first Indian wicketkeeper and the ninth overall to complete 200 dismissals (149 catchews + 51 dismissals) or more.
Dhoni is now the third wicketkeeper after Adam Gilchrist and Kumar Sangakkara to complete the double of 5000 runs and 200 dismissals.
Sehwag got his 19th Man of the Match award in ODIs.
