# Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the top run-getter in Tests as captain-cum-wicketkeeper, aggregating 1324 at an averge of 52.96 in 29 innings (21 Tests).  His tally includes three hundreds and ten fifties.
 
# Andy Flower had amassed 1232 at an average of 49.28, including three centuries and seven fifties, in 30 innings (16 Tests) as captain-cum-wicketkeeper.

Dhoni has posted his highest innings against New Zealand, surpassing the 56 not out at Wellington in April 2009.
 
# Dhoni, for the third time, has been dismissed in the nineties - his previous two instances were - 92 against England at The Oval in August 2007 and 92 against Australia at Mohali in October 2008.
 
# Dhoni is the third Indian captain to post two innings in the nervous nineties - the first two being Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly.
 
# Daniel Vettori has bowled 50 overs or more in an innings 18 times. 
 
# Vettori (58-7-178-3) has conceded 175 or more in an innings for the third time.  The only instance when he has conceded 200 runs in an innings is - 57-5-200-4 against India at Ahmedabad in 1999-2000.

Rahul Dravid (191 off 396 balls) has recorded his 31st century - his sixth against New Zealand - a record in India-New Zealand Tests.
 
# Dravid's runs' tally of 1659 (ave.63.80), including six hundreds and six fifties, in 15 Tests is a record in India-New Zealand Tests.
 
# Only six players have posted more centuries than Dravid - Sachin Tendulkar (49), Ricky Ponting (39), Jacques Kallis (37), Sunil Gavaskar (34), Brian Lara (34) and Steve Waugh (32).

Daniel Vettori has produced his best bowling performance in a Test series against India, claiming 14 wickets at an average of 36.57 in three Tests, eclipsing his previous best tally - 12 (ave. 45.25) in three Tests in 1999-00.
 
# Harbhajan Singh is the first number eight batsman to amass 300 runs in a Test series, aggregating 315 at an average of 105.00, including two hundreds and one fifty.
 
# New Zealand have conceded a first innings lead of 373 - the highest conceded to India by New Zealand, eclipsing the 328 in the 1955-56 Chennai Test.
 
# India (566/8 wickets declared) have posted their second highest against New Zealand - their best is 583 for seven wickets declared at Ahmedabad in 1999-00.
 
# India's total is the highest at Jamtha, surpassing South Africa's 558 for six wickets declared in February 2010.

Dravid's tally of six centuries versus New Zealand is bettered only by Pakistan's Javed Miandad (seven).
 
# Dravid's runs' tally of 1659 in 15 Tests at an average of 63.80 against New Zealand is exceeded only by Javed Miandad - 1919 (ave.79.95) in 18 Tests.
 
# Sachin has registered his personal best tally in a calendar year, aggregating 1396 (ave.82.11), including six hundreds and five fifties, in 12 Tests.  His previous highest tally was -  1392 runs in 16 Tests at an average of 55.68, including four hundreds and five fifties.
 
# Andy McKay is the eleventh bowler (a record) to capture Sachin Tendulkar's wicket as his first.

The 104-run stand between Dravid and Tendulkar is a record for India for the third wicket at this venue.
 
# Mahendra Singh Dhoni (98) has recorded his highest innings at this venue - his third fifty.
 
# Dhoni and Dravid, with their 193-run partnership, have equalled a record for India for the sixth wicket against New Zealand. Dilip Sardesai and Hanumant Singh were involved in a 193-run unbroken stand at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai in March 1965.
