Here are the statistical highlights of the opening day of the second Test between India and Sri Lanka in Colombo.

Kumar Sangakkara (130 not out) has recorded his 23rd Test hundred - his fifth against India - his fifth as Captain in 10 games.
The aforesaid hundred is Sangakkara's 15th in Sri Lanka and during the course of his knock, has completed his 1,000 runs against India - 1023 at an average of 53.84 in 14 Tests.
Sangakkara has also completed his 1,000 runs as captain - 1018 at an average of 67.86 in 10 Tests.Â
Tharanga Paranavitana (100) has posted his second hundred in Tests - both against India.

Paranavitana has amassed 434 in five Tests against India at an average of 62.00, including two centuries and two fifties.

India have lost seven Tosses in a row - one vs Sri Lanka (Mumbai), two each vs Bangladesh (Chittagong and Dhaka), two vs South Africa (Nagpur and Kolkata) and two vs Sri Lanka (Galle & Colombo SSC).

For the first time in consecutive Tests against India in Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka have posted three first-wicket partnerships of 50-plus in a row - 55 & 96 (unbroken) at Galle and 99 at Colombo (SSC)

Dilshan, in the course of his aforesaid innings, has completed his 2000 runs in Sri Lanka - 2012 at an average of 47.90, including five centuries and nine fifties.
