N Srinivasan formally took charge of the Board of Control for Cricket in India on Monday. He replaced Shahshank Manohar who completed a full three-year term in office.
Srinivasan, who was elected as the secretary of BCCI under Manohar in September 2008, took the reins during the 82nd Annual General Meeting of the Board.
The Chennai-based businessman, who is also the president of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association, becomes the 30th President of BCCI and will have to deal with putting the national team back on track after a torrid tour of England, immediately. He however said that the team was not playing too much cricket. "BCCI does not support the view that too much cricket is being played by the team. Players who play all versions were not the ones to have got injured in England," he said.
