Krishnamachari Srikkanth, the chairman of selectors for the Board of Control for Cricket in India is confident that India's tour to the West Indies will be successful.
Speaking to members of the press after announcing the squad for the tour beginning June 4, Srikkanth said the balance of the side was kept in mind while choosing the players. "This is the best possible side. I am sure there is good balance in the team and I am confident that they will do well and maintain the winning momentum," he said.
The former India batsman also mentioned that choosing two wicket-keepers for the West Indies tour has been the norm. Parthiv Patel and Wridhiman Saha have been brought into the side that will be led by Gautam Gambhir while seniors MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar and Zaheer Khan have been rested for the limited overs format. "Whoever wants to crticise the selection can do so but I am confident of the team's success," said Srikkanth.
