Sydney:
According to media reports, Ganguly, the only Indian batsmen who scored at least 40 in the Melbourne Test, was feeling unwell while batting in the 2nd innings itself and is at the moment unable to move around much.
The sweltering heat of Melbourne took its toll on Ganguly, who was attended to by team physio John Gloster.
Meanwhile, the team management is hopeful that the left-hander will recover fully before Wednesday's second cricket Test against Australia.
"He should be fit in time for the second Test. His condition has improved," M V Sridhar, the assistant manager of the touring party, said.
With reports coming in of Virender Sehwag being considered for the Sydney Test, the automatic choice for exclusion may be Yuvraj Singh.
But if Ganguly does not recover on time, Yuvraj might retain his place in the side.
