Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, son Abhishek, and Anil Kapoor extended their warm wishes to Sachin Tendulkar on his 43rd birthday.
Tendulkar, who retired from international cricket in November 2013, celebrated his 43rd birthday by playing cricket with children from the Make-A-Wish India organisation.
Megastar Amitabh wished the cricketing icon saying, "Happy birthday Sachin...Our pride and our honour! Happy birthday Sachin...you make us so proud."
"He is a game changer, a creator of and a gem of a person. Happy birthday Sachin Tendulkar. You will always be a legend," Kapoor wrote.
Abhishek wrote, "Happy birthday legend! @sachin_rt."
"Dum Laga Ke Haisha" star Ayushmann Khurrana called himself his true fan.
"It's Sachin Tendulkar's birthday. True fan! When he used to get out, I used to stop eating food."
Dhanush, who is a known name in Bollywood too besides his Southern stint, also tweeted, "Happy birthday to the god of cricket Sachin Tendulkar... All hail the man who made and making our country proud."
Tendulkar is the leading run-scorer in Tests and ODIs. He is the only cricketer to have hit 100 international centuries, and the first to score a double century in ODIs.
Tendulkar received India's highest civilian award Bharat Ratna in 2014. He is the youngest recipient to date and the first ever sportsperson to receive the award.
