Ranji Trophy: Jammu And Kashmir's Bandeep Singh Scores Fastest Fifty in Tournament History
Bandeep Singh scored a 15-ball half century against Tripura. He broke the jointly-held record of Yusuf Pathan and Shakti Singh, who scored half-centuries in 18 balls.

Bandeep Singh, Jammu and Kashmir's right-hand batsman, quietly entered the record books of Indian cricket hitting the fastest 50 in the history of Ranji Trophy. He achieved the landmark in only 15 balls against Tripura in a group C encounter. (Read more cricket stories here)
It happened on the third day of the Ranji Trophy match at Agartala where Bandeep blasted to an unbeaten 51 off 16 balls with the half-century coming off only 15 balls.
The record was jointly held by Himachal Pradesh' Shakti Singh (1990-91) and Baroda's Yusuf Pathan (2012-13), who achieved the feat in 18 balls.
In fact, Bandeep, who is known for his defensive technique and a career strike-rate of shade less than 40 launched into slow medium pacer Rajib Haradhan Saha hitting him for 22 in one over. In all he hit six boundaries and four sixes in his innings.
The match on Sunday ended in a draw with Jammu and Kashmir getting three points from the match.
