A power failure at the Eden Gardens had stalled the fourth one-day match between India and Sri Lanka for more than 25 minutes.

The lights went off during the last over at 5.56 PM and returned just before 6.23. The Sri Lanka were then 307/6 in 49.2 overs. After the game resumed, Sri Lanka took their score to 315/6 in 50 overs.

This was not the first time that a power failure halted a game at the Eden Gardens. It had last happened during an IPL match in 2008.
