The lights went off during the last over at 5.56 PM and returned just before 6.23. The Sri Lanka were then 307/6 in 49.2 overs. After the game resumed, Sri Lanka took their score to 315/6 in 50 overs.

This was not the first time that a power failure halted a game at the Eden Gardens. It had last happened during an IPL match in 2008.
