India gets set to battle England in a one-off T20 contest at the Old Trafford on Wednesday on a pitch which is expected to be more sub-continental than usual for tracks in this part of the world.
Though the highest total scored on this venue in a 20-20 contest has been 145, scored by Australia against England, the slightly slower track this time around can ensure that the batsmen lash out at the bowlers with more ferocity than what is seen in T20 matches here. What is certian though, is that unlike on most tracks where a sub-150 score means an evetual defeat for certain, the same is not true for this venue.
The pitch expected to be used has slight cracks that will keep the spinners interested and looking for scalps. Though not comparable to standard spin-friendly tracks elsewhere, it is enough to ensure a competitive battle between bat and ball.
