The Board of Control for Cricket in India have resolved all the outstanding issues with the West Indies Cricket Board which arose following West Indies' abandonment of their tour to India mid-way during the 2014 series.
With this announcement, India will tour West Indies in July-August 2016 for four Tests.
The West Indies team were involved in a payment dispute with the WICB and the West Indies Players Association (WIPA). This dispute derailed the series in India, with West Indies pulling out of the tour after the end of the fourth ODI in Dharamsala. The Windies were initially slated to play one more ODI, two Twenty20s and three Tests.
In a statement released by the BCCI, Dave Cameron, president of the WICB said, "We are extremely delighted that concerns which arose due to the incomplete tour have been addressed and would like to thank BCCI for reviving our ties. West Indies cricket appreciates the support of BCCI and the cricket loving fans of the islands keenly look forward to witness some exciting contests between the two teams."
Anurag Thakur, the secretary of the BCCI, also said, "BCCI is happy to resume their bilateral ties with WICB. We recognise that West Indies has a huge role to play in the development of cricket and we are happy to support their endeavours. This tour will further strengthen the bond between the Indian and the West Indian fans, who have over the years patronized this glorious game of cricket."
West Indies were plunged into a major crisis after the BCCI suspended all future tours with them following their abrupt withdrawal from the series.
However, the ice was broken once WICB announced that India will be touring Caribbean for a four-Test series, this summer.
Shashank Manohar, BCCI president, said that the schedule will be finalised by the end of May
