Ranji Trophy: Mithun Manhas Scores 26th First-Class Ton to Take Jammu And Kashmir to Safety

Captain Mithun Manhas scored his 26th first-class hundred to lead Jammu and Kashmir to a comfortable 331 for 4 against Hyderabad on the opening day of their Ranji Trophy cricket match here on Friday. (Read more cricket stories here)
Put in to bat, Jammu and Kashmir were at a precarious 29 for 2 after losing their openers in successive overs in the first hour in the Group C match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium at Uppal.
But Manhas (150), who shifted sides from Delhi to J&K this season, and Ian Dev Singh (83) came together for a 189-run partnership to take their team out of trouble.
Manhas put on another 113 for the fourth wicket with Parvez Rasool (61 batting) after Ian Dev departed in the 60th over.
The J&K captain stretched his knock to 150 off 194 balls, with 21 fours and three sixes, till he fell off what proved to be the last ball of the day. Rasool remained unbeaten on 61 off 97 with 10 fours.
For Hyderabad, Anwar Ahmed took two wickets for 49 runs while Chama Milind and Sudeep Tyagi grabbed a wicket apiece.
