BCCI Forms Ad-hoc Committee to Manage Rajasthan Cricket
Rajasthan cricket remains in turmoil due to internal power struggle. The BCCI doesn't want the state's players to suffer.

To safeguard the interest of cricketers in Rajasthan, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has constituted an ad-hoc committee for managing cricket affairs in the state. The committee has been tasked to ensure the participation of Rajasthan teams in various BCCI tournaments in the upcoming domestic season. (Click here for latest Cricket stories)
According to a BCCI press statement on Friday, former Railway Sports Control Board official and BCCI's ex-media manager Amrit Mathur will be the coordinator of a committee that will include CK Khanna, Milind Kanmadikar, Snehal Parikh and PV Shetty.
Rajasthan cricket has been gripped by power struggle in recent times. Lalit Modi, former IPL chief and now wanted by the Enforcement Directorate for allegations of corruption, is fighting a legal battle with current officials who claim to have majority support. Jagmohan Dalmiya, BCCI president, said: "This step is in line with the BCCI philosophy of keeping the interest of cricket and the players on top priority. Like any other side playing domestic cricket in India, Rajasthan cricketers will have all the facilities, exposure and opportunities to perform and excel." ÂÂ
The BCCI has formed similar committees to manage cricket in Bihar and Uttarkhand.
