Sachin Tendulkar Gets Lifetime Achievement Award from BJP President Amit Shah

Sachin Tendulkar and former Bollywood danseuse Helen were among celebrities feted by Giants International in a gala ceremony in Mumbai on Wednesday night.
Bharat Ratna Tendulkar received a lifetime achievement award from Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah, who is also a vice-president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
While 41-year-old Tendulkar was recognized for his contribution to cricket, 75-year-old Helen was honoured for her lifetime contribution to films. Tendulkar retired from all forms of cricket in November last year.
Giants International was founded on September 17, 1972 by Nana Chudasama, who is now its world chairman. The organization was formed to serve humanity, promote unity, harmony and homogeneity among its members.
For the past 35 years, it has worked for family planning, disaster management, flood relief, rainwater harvesting, low-cost housing, AIDS, drugs abuse awareness, academics, medicine, environment and saving the girl child.
The other awardees included Urvi Piramal (business and industry), Hemant Thacker (medicine), Kulinkant Luthia (social service), Bahubali Shah (journalism), Anu Malik (music) and Patangrao Kadam (education).
