Former Indian Premier League chairman Lalit Modi speaks exclusively to NDTV on IPL probe report from London. Here are the highlights.
# It is a moral responsibility for Mr Srinivasan to step down as BCCI chief
# He has to take moral responsibility. I take on Srinivasan directly & say he is involved in match-fixing
# Everyone supporting him is guilty by association.
# It is very convenient to put it on the son-in-law; the buck stops at Srinivasan
# BCCI doesn't operate without the knowledge of Srinivasan, he is hampering investigations
# Let the police investigations go on. Srinivasan wants to be the Czar of the world, he want to control everything... why? Because he lets fixing go on
# I agree with Justice Mudgal that people should go to jail for fixing, but for that we need stringent laws
# IPL governing council should be disbanded. Let us have an independent organisation that runs the IPL like National Football League in USA
# If players don't get induced into fixing, the match-fixers use intimidation and the mafia gets involved
# Not match-fixing anymore. It's spot-fixing and it has seeped into every aspect of the game. (On coming back to India) Very soon, waiting for national elections. Hope my security issues are sorted out.
