IPL 2021, Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals Highlights: Delhi Capitals defeated Mumbai Indians by four wickets and five balls to spare in match 46 of the Indian Premier League 2021 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in United Arab Emirates.
Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by four wickets and five balls to spare in match 46 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in United Arab Emirates (UAE). DC lost their way early on, losing wickets of openers Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw in the run-chase of 130 runs. Jayant Yadav took the crucial wicket of Rishabh Pant as DC still needed 65 more runs in 60 balls to win and then Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Shimron Hetmyer when the batter was looking extremely dangerous and threatning to take the game away from MI. However, Ravichandran Ashwin and Shreyas Iyer batted intelligently and took the game deep to win in the last over through a six off Krunal Pandya's first ball. MI bowled well but fell around 10-15 runs short in the end. Earlier, pacer Avesh Khan dismissed MI skipper Rohit Sharma for just seven runs while Axar Patel got rid of Quinton de Kock, Suryakumar Yadav and Saurabh Tiwary to give DC big breakthroughs. DC strangled Mumbai Indians for any breathing space as Avesh and Axar restricted the defending champions to 129/8 in 20 overs. (Scorecard)
