India held their nerve at the death and won the 4th T20I in Ahmedabad by eight runs to level the five-match series 2-2. With 23 runs to defend in the last over, Jofra Archer tried to eke out a great win by hitting a four and a six. Thakur then gave away two wides to make it 10 off 3 balls. But the Indian pacer dismissed Chris Jordan off the penultimate ball of the match to seal the deal. The game was almost always in the balance with Jason Roy (40 off 27) and Ben Stokes (46 off 23 balls) the major players with the bat for England while Archer got four wickets. But in the end, Suryakumar's fifty on debut (57) and India's death bowling did the trick and helped the hosts level the series. (SCORECARD)Â
4th T20I Highlights Between India (IND) vs England (ENG), Straight From Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad
Bairstow has thrown the kitchen sink at it. He smshes this ball over deep mid-wicket for a six. It was in the slot and Bairstow just hammered it all the way.
Stokes is getting into the act properly now. He picks this ball from Rahul Chahar and deposits it over the bowler's head for a six. This one went miles up in the air but landed just past the sight screen.
For a moment there, Stokes would have had his heart in his mouth. He comes down the wicket and hits this ball from Chahar over the leg side. The man at wide midwicket, Shreyas Iyer, came running in and went for the catch. The ball dropped just short and bounced away for four past the wide midwicket fence.
England need 115 runs from the last 10 overs. With two new batsmen at the crease, India are favourites from here. But that could change quickly if Bairstow gets going, as he has threatened to many times this series.
This was the googly and Malan has been bowled round his legs. The ball pitched outside off and turned back in to Malan, who had already walked outside off to play that reverse.
Roy looks threatening for India here. He got a boundary earlier in the over and now he has hit a six over long-on and a four through the covers to make it England's Powerplay.
India have done themselves a huge favour by dismissing Jos Butler early. But Malan is the No.1-ranked T20I bowler in the world and India would love to see his back soon.
England, on the other hand, will look to make the best use of the last two Powerplay overs.
Buttler plays across the line to this slower ball from Bhuvneshwar and gets a leading edge. The ball skies up in the air and Rahul settles under it at mid-off and takes the catch comfortably.
Hardik Pandya has been given the new ball and he bowls a good first over. To keep the pair of Jos Buttler and Jason Roy quiet on a wicket conducive for batting is some achievement.
