Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by seven wickets in Match 29 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. Chasing a target of 167 runs, Delhi reached 167 for three in 17.4 overs, with Shikhar Dhawan remaining unbeaten after scoring 69 off 47 balls. Meanwhile, his opening partner Prithvi Shaw also made a decent contribution with 39 off 22 balls. Dhawan's knock also has pushed him to the top of the Orange Cap race, dislodging KL Rahul, who has been hospitalized due to appendicitis. In what was a disappointing night for PBKS bowlers, Harpreet Brar, Chris Jordan, Riley Meredith took a wicket each. Earlier, Punjab scored 166 for six in 20 overs, courtesy of an unbeaten knock by Mayank Agarwal (99 off 58 balls). Dawid Malan also hit 26 runs off 26 balls for PBKS.
