Steven Smith's maiden century in limited-overs cricket spurred Australia to a convincing 93-run victory in the first one-day international against Pakistan on Tuesday. Catch all the highlights of the match here (SCORECARD)

Smith's 101 off 118 balls anchored Australia to 255-8 as fit-again Mitchell Johnson (3-24) and Nathan Lyon (2-33) ripped through the top order to dismiss Pakistan for 162 in 36.3 overs.

Umar Akmal top-scored with 46, but got little support from his teammates after offspinner Lyon got rid of Sarfraz Ahmed (34) and captain Misbah-ul-Haq off successive deliveries to reduce Pakistan to 59-3.

Earlier, Australian total revolved around Smith's resolute batting as he put on 86 runs for the second wicket with David Warner (43).

Shahid Afridi's six-match wicketless run in ODIs finally ended when he picked up 3-46, including Smith's wicket in the 45th over.

Right then! 1-0 to Australia in this short 3-ODI series which means that Pakistan have to win the next game to stay alive. We head back to Dubai, the same venue for the one-off T20I and this ODI will be played on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 1100 GMT (1630 IST). That is all we have for you tonight. Adios! Take Care!

!

Victorious Australian captain George Bailey does not beat around the bush. "We were 20-30 runs short", he says. But is happy with the win and also with the way the batsmen gritted it out and the way the bowlers bowled, both the spin and the extra pace.

!

Woohoo! We have finally reached the award that matters the most - MAN OF THE MATCH - Goes to Steven Smith! Says that he just wanted to bat through. Adds that he has been working upon pacing his innings. Felt that 250 was a good score. Smiles about getting an opportunity to bat at number 3 and hopes to get some more big scores.

!

Steven Smith gets the Masterblaster award for a wonderful knock. Nathan Lyon gets one for a good bowling display. The most colourful innings award goes to Umar Akmal. Mitchell Johnson gets the fastest bowler of the match award. Steven Smith gets another award for his classy innings and one for an outstanding performance.

!

Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq manages a smile. Admits that it is not an easy job to bounce back, especially after their batting display tonight. Says that they have do work upon a lot of factors as batting is simply not working. Hopes to do all that before the next game.

!

It was an innings of partnerships, with Smith threading plenty of small but useful ones at those en route to his century. Australia were cautious and scraped through to 255 but it proved to be more than enough. Johnson set the platform with a quick burst at the top while Lyon ran through the middle order. Just 3 in the top 7 managed to get to double figures. Johnson rocked the top order with 3 scalps while Lyon was impressive for his couple.

!

Not many would have thought of this. On a track which was supposed to assist spin, Australia have won by a massive 92 runs. They started badly, losing a wicket off the very first ball but then, the rest was history.

Well run. Outside off, just dabbed in front of first slip for a quick single. Steven Smith rushes to the ball from slip and has a shy at the non-striker's end and nearly takes the bowler with him.

NOT OUT. The ball is missing the stumps according to technology. Lyon is extracting plenty of turn from the surface. Landed outside off, 89.3 kph, Shafiq gets across to flick but misses and is hit on the pads. Another huge appeal is turned down. Lyon and Haddin convince Bailey to go for the review and he takes it. Replays show the ball to be spinning over the leg stump.

!

Huge appeal against Sarfraz for LBW, given not out. Australia want it reviewed.

Drama! Shafiq survives a run out scare! Let us describe the delivery first. Landed outside off, Sarfraz looks to turn it to the leg side but the ball spins and bounces, takes the inside edge but no short leg! Meanwhile, Glenn Maxwell has a shy at the non-striker's end where Shafiq takes it slightly easy. Hits bull's eye and appeals for the run out. They refer it upstairs and replays show that Shafiq has just kept his bat in.

!

NATHAN LYON into the attack now. Sarfraz was sweeping the pacers, wonder what will he do to a spinner?
