Joe Root's 254 was the highlight on a day England dominated in Old Trafford. His knock, combined with some good knocks from Chris Woakes and Jonny Bairstow helped them declare on 589/8 dec. Pakistan got off to a steady start but Woakes once again was in action as he picked up three wickets to leave Pakistan reeling at 57/4.
