New Delhi:
The DDCA on Tuesday hit back at Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Anil Kumble for terming the Feroz Shah Kotla pitch as unfit for Twenty20 cricket and asserted that it was the most sporting track in the ongoing Indian Premier League.
After his side lost an IPL match against Delhi Daredevils, Kumble had said that Kotla pitch was not ideal for T20 cricket since it gives advantage to the team batting first.
"I refute his allegation and I still maintain that Kotla is the most sporting wicket in IPL. The ICC chief curator Andy Atkinson had approved the playing facilities at Kotla and certified it fit for T-20 cricket," DDCA Sports secretary Sunil Dev said in a statement.
"Analysis of all matches at different venues shows that actually it is the most sporting wicket in the country," he said, adding that no other team had complained about the pitch.
Delhi skipper Gautam Gambhir had also said that chasing a near-200 total was difficult for teams at Kotla pitch.
