The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is scheduled to meet Kevin Pietersen on Saturday (September 1) in an attempt to sort out the pending issues that have seen Pietersen being sidelined by the England team, according to The Daily Telegraph. The meeting will take place behind closed doors.
Pietersen was believed to have agreed to a meeting with Andy Flower, the coach of the England team, and Hugh Morris, Managing Director of ECB, and the meeting has been slotted in London, where the England team will be based on Saturday after playing the third One-Day International against South Africa at The Oval.
While Flower and Morris will meet Pietersen formally, Alastair Cook, the new England Test captain after Andrew Strauss's retirement, is expected to be present at the meeting too.
Pietersen was banished from the England set-up after he sent 'provocative' texts to members of the South Africa team about Strauss and Flower. Following the incident, Pietersen was dropped from the England team for the third Test match against South Africa.
