With an unanimous verdict against South Korea's Kim Gichae, India's Kapil Pokhariya has stormed into the semi-finals of the men's 90kg boxing semi-fianls. India are now assured od a 6th medal in boxing.  

India's Vithya Ramraj wins bronze medal in Asian Games women's 400m hurdles event with personal best time of 54.75sec. She has broken the national record of PT Usha (55.42 seconds.)

Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Seema Kaliramna's personal best effort was not enough as she finished fourth in the women's discus throw final . Seema produced a personal best effort of 59.88m in her fifth attempt, but that was not enough as all three podium finishers had best throws in excess of 60m.

In about 10 minutes, men's 90kg quarter-final between Kapil Choudhary and Gichae Kim of South Korea will start. A win here will assure India a sixth medal in boxing

India's Seema is at the bronze medal spot at present, but Sanya Yadav is quite far from a podium spot in the women's discus throw final. The latter is currently placed in 7th place. 

Seema's best throw was 58.40m in the 2nd attempt.

In boxing, the only bout remaining today for India is the men's 90kg quarterfinal between Kapil Pokhariya and Kim Gichae of South Korea. It is expected to start at 3:45 PM IST. Could it be another medal guarantee for India?

And the tables turn! Priya ups the ante, lands some good counter punches against the Tajik boxer. Samadova also gets a warning as Priya takes the second round unanimously 5-0. Priya has a big advantage as the bout enters the final round. 

India's Priya Ghangas, the gold medallist in the Commonwealth Games this year, loses the first round 2-3. Plenty of jabs exchanged by both boxers, prompting the judges to give a split decision. It is going to be a more tightly contested affair than first anticipated.

India’s Priya is next scheduled to face Mijgona Samadova of Tajikistan in the women’s 60kg quarterfinals next. A win here would take Priya to the semifinals, guaranteeing a medal.

Drama continues in women’s squash team Pool C match between India and Japan. After going 2-0 up in her match, Tanvi Khanna loses the third game 4-11. The 4th game turns out to be a thriller, but it’s Tanvi who clinches a 12-10 win to wrap up the contest.

After Anahat Singh fell in a thrilling contest, Tavi Khanna has stepped up to win the first two games of the third match in the Pool C clash against Japan. She is leading Akari Midorikawa 2-0 (12-10, 11-9) after the first two games.

Manu Bhaker's father questions conditions in Asian Games:

"You can smell this gutter is here, and athletes are shooting in such an environment. It (shooting range) is very far from (Nagoya City)-you can say four to five hours every day spending for what? And top of that, bus timing. The travel time is four to five hours, and bus timings are also different. So Japan should not organise such big events. They need to improve themselves if they are willing to organise that type of event. They should be better organised," he said.

The 5th game turned out to be a thriller, as was expected, with Anahat and Watanabe refusing to give each other breathing space. But, it’s the Japanese who takes the game 3-2 after winning the fifth game 11-9.

An absolute thriller is unfolding in women’s team Pool C match between India and Japan as Anahat Singh and Satomi Watanabe are tied 2-2 after four games. We are into the decider now!

Up against Satomi Watanabe, Anahat Singh goes down fighting 8-11 in the first game. The women’s singles silver medallist, however, bounces back to take the second game against the Japanese 11-8.

After an 11-1 win in the opening game, Joshna Chinappa follows it up with an 11-8 win in the second game and an 11-9 win in the third game to put India 1-0 up. Next up is Anahat Singh who takes on Satomi Watanabe.

In the women’s team Pool C match against Japan, India have called up Joshna Chinappa, Anahat Singh and Tanvi Khanna. Joshna has got the ball rolling against Erisa Sano, winning the first game 11-1 in the opening match.

Mixed results for India in the women's individual compound archery as Jyothi Surekha Vennam bows out while Chikitha Taniparthi marches into the quarter-finals. Vennam was eliminated in the round of 16 after falling 146-150 to South Korea's 14-year-old prodigy Kang Yeonseo, who shot a flawless score.

Taniparthi, however, held her nerve in a dramatic finish against Chinese Taipei's Chen Yi-Hsuan. After ending regulation tied at 148-148, both archers shot a 10 in the shoot-off, but Taniparthi's arrow landed closer to the bullseye to seal the victory. She will now face Indonesia's Nurisa Dian Ashrifah in the quarter-finals.

India's Lovlina Borgohain is now in action against Seong Suyeon of South Korea in women's 75kg quarterfinal. A win here guarantees her a medal.

Chikitha Taniparthi and Jyothi Surekha Vennam both advanced to the round of 16 in the women's individual compound archery event. Taniparthi produced a commanding performance to defeat Bhutan's Dorji Dolma 149-140, while Vennam edged past Kazakhstan's Adel Zhexenbinova 148-145.

A defeat in the opening round for India’s women’s doubles duo of Ankita Raina and Rutuja Bhosle. After winning the first set 7-5, they lose the second 6-3. The Kazakhstan pair of Yuliya Putintseva and Anna Danilina wrap up the win 10-5 in the tie-breaker.

Indian men’s squash team off to a victorious start against China, with Suraj Chand and Veer Chotrani securing 3-0 victories each. Only one game to go!

India's Shapath Bharadwaj starred for India on Day 2 of the men's trap qualification, shooting a perfect 50/50 to climb to fifth overall with a total score of 95/100.

Meanwhile, Kynan Chenai slipped to 19th place (91/100) after shooting a 44 today. Ahvar Rizvi sits in 32nd (87/100), improving with a 46 on Day 2, but not enough to recover from an opening-day total of 41.

Rahi Sarnobat's out of target shot costs India heavily! Late drama sees India miss out on Asian Games team medal in the Women’s 25m Air Pistol final, Esha Singh only one to reach the individual final.

As we wait for Sumit Nagal's match to begin, another tennis event has started for India with Ankita Raina and Rutuja Bhosale taking on Kazakhstan's Anna Danilina and Yuliya Putintseva in their women's doubles opener.

India kick off their women's squash team campaign with a 2-1 victory over China. After Shameena Riaz dropped the opening match in a five-game thriller, Tanvi Khanna and Joshna Chinappa both produced dominant straight-games performances to turn the tie around for India.

Shameena Riaz lost to Yin Ziyuan 2–3 (11–8, 11–6, 9–11, 9–11, 14–12)

Tanvi Khanna beat Zhang Yuning 3–0 (11–3, 11–5, 11–5)

Joshna Chinappa beat Liu Ziyi 3–0 (12–10, 11–4, 11–6)

India will face Japan later today, with Iran completing their group. Meanwhile, the men's team is now set to take on China in their opening pool game.

India secured their second consecutive straight-sets victory, defeating Hong Kong 25-22, 25-19, 25-21 to make it two wins from two in Pool C.

Captain Jerome Vinith led the charge in a clinical team performance, supported by strong contributions from John Joseph, Ashwal Rai, and Chirag Yadav. India will face Qatar tomorrow in a match expected to determine the top spot in the pool.

Up next for India in the medal rounds is Pincky Balhara in the women's 78kg quarterfinal in Kurash. She will take on South Korea's Garam Lim for a spot in the semifinals. Remember, a spot in the top four guarantees a medal in Kurash.

In the men's trap event, Rizvi shot a 24 in his third series, but earlier scores of 20 and 21 leave him languishing in 27th place. Meanwhile, Neeru stays atop the women's trap standings after following up yesterday's back-to-back 24s with another 24 today.

A thriller to kick off the squash team campaign as India's Shameeza Riaz surrenders a 2-0 lead before ultimately going down 3-2 (11-8, 11-6, 9-11, 9-11, 14-12) to Yin Ziyuan of China.

After Riaz claimed the opening two games, the Chinese player fought back to force a decider. The final game went right down to the wire, deadlocked at 9-9, 10-10, 11-11, and 12-12, before Yin finally clinched the win.

Not the finest of Series 2 and Series 3 from Esha Singh, as she registers scores of 96 in each. This takes her overall score to 580, which places her at the 5th spot at present. Remember, only two relays have happened so far, with two more to go. It could be touch and go for Esha as far as individual qualification is concerned.

Rahi Sarnobat is expected to be a part of the 4th relay, like yesterday. Manu Bhaker, meanwhile, has dropped out of the top 8 spots.

A perfect 25 from Shapath will see him jump up 11 places from 22nd, recovering ground lost after a 21 in the previous series dropped him down the rankings. Can he continue to push and climb further in the standings?

Esha Singh begins her Women’s 25m Air Pistol Rapid event with a brilliant 98 in the first series. The score takes her up to the third spot in the overall standings. Esha is India’s biggest hope in the event for an individual medal.

As India's top star in men's singles tennis, Sumit Nagal, begins his campaign today, the contest has been delayed. While an official update isn't avaiable yet, weather seems to have played a role in the opening match being delayed. 

Sumit is scheduled to take on South Korea's Seongchan Hong in his first match.

As both women's Trap Shooting qualification gets underway, In the men's event, Kynan is currently the top-performing Indian with 13 hits in Round 3, placing him ninth overall. In the women's event, Neeru is at the absolute top in the qualification standings at the start with scores of 24 and 24 in the first couple of rounds. 

Following the individual gold medal matches, the squash action resumes today with the team competitions. In their opening pool fixture against China, India have named Shameena Riaz, Tanvi Khanna, and Joshna Chinappa in the line-up, resting silver medallist Anahat Singh.

The first match in the event sees Shameena Riaz take on Yin Ziyuan.

Manu Bhaker’s rapid event begins in women’s 25m Air Pistol event with a 97, 96 and 99 in the rapid series. She is placed 8th in the standings at present. Manu is also the first Indian shooter today to have begun the rapid series, while the likes of Easha Singh and Rahi Sarnobat are yet to begin!

A total score of 579 in Precision and Rapid might not be enough for Manu to go through to the Individual final.

India’s Sahil Jadhav and Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru kicked off their men's individual compound campaign with strong round-of-32 victories. Jadhav defeated Mongolia's Jamiyangombo Purevdorj 149-137, while Ganesh edged Indonesia's Sostar Andaru Rinaldi 144-142.

The wins set up an all-Indian round-of-16 clash, where Ganesh narrowly edged out Jadhav 149-148 after a crucial 30-29 advantage in the final end.

Ganesh advances to the quarterfinals, where he will face Chinese Taipei's Chen Chieh-lun on October 1.
