Johannesburg:

Cricket South Africa says JP Duminy is on course to be fit for the Champions Trophy after his six-month rehabilitation for a ruptured left Achilles tendon he sustained during a warm-down session last year.

CSA says allrounder Duminy should return to full fitness by the end of May, just in time for the June 6-23 limited overs tournament in England and Wales. Duminy was injured on South Africa's test tour of Australia in November and had surgery to reattach the tendon.

South Africa manager Mohammed Moosajee said on Wednesday that Duminy was batting "without restriction" and should start bowling next week.

Moosajee said Proteas batsman Faf du Plessis was also recovering from a lower back problem and could play for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League next week.
