Top-ranked one-day batsman Hashim Amla has been dropped out of South Africa's limited-overs squad for the rest of the series against Sri Lanka because his wife is expecting their first child.
Amla was one of three changes made to the Protean squad on Sunday for the three remaining matches.
Cricket South Africa said Jacques Kallis would be rested for the games in Kimberley, Bloemfontein and Johannesburg, while seamer Rory Kleinveldt was ruled out with a torn left thigh muscle.
Batsmen Alviro Petersen and Colin Ingram and bowler Vernon Philander were called up.
Sri Lanka legspinner Ajantha Mendis is expected to return home after a recurrence of a back injury, while doubts remain over the fitness of seamer Dilhara Fernando.
South Africa lead the series 2-0.
