Sunrisers Hyderabad cruised to an emphatic 6-wicket win against Delhi Daredevils to claim their fifth win here, in-a-row. For all-rounder Darren Sammy, knowing home conditions is the main feature of the team.
Adjudged Man of the Match for his two wickets and unbeaten 20-ball 18, the West Indian said that it only makes sense to know home conditions the best. "This is our home ground and it just makes sense to know it well and play well here," he said after the match.
Hyderabad restricted Delhi to 80 after being asked to field. It was a challenging track to bat on but Sammy said credit for the win belonged to the entire team. "I must credit the bowlers. In fact, the highlight of the team has been how we play together."
The team is now placed third with 14 points from 11 matches and this win has also given them a healthy boost in terms of net run-rate. Skipper Kumar Sangakkara was proud of the effort. "It was a good bowling and fielding performance. We kept the pressure up through the match," he said.
