India vs Pakistan - Sports Without Boundaries
It's been about 3 years since India and Pakistan have played a bilateral-series. Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Shahryar Khan in now India to try and resume Indo- Pak cricketing ties and we ask - Isn't sports meant to be bridging gaps and bringing nations and people together? So what's the fuss all about?

India vs Pakistan in the 2015 World Cup, it may have been a Sunday game but everyone had still set their alarm clocks. Fans wanted to watch every bit of the game, even before the game had begun. Breakfast dates had been set, friendly best were being laid, WhatsApp groups were buzzing and it was show time! Whatever anyone may say, but there's nothing like watching an India-Pakistan cricket match.
This is something that definitely got me thinking again. Why are India and Pakistan not playing bilateral series? What's the fault of the Pakistan cricket team if 26/11 happened?
The Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Shahryar Khan is in Kolkata to meet BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya in a bid to restore cricket ties between India and Pakistan. He is here with a proposal to organise a cricket series at a neutral venue. The last series between India and Pakistan was played in 2012 in India.
Well, I for one certainly hope things change- not only for the game in India but more importantly to infuse some life into the game in Pakistan. Agreed Pakistan may not be the safest venue currently but are there any guarantees anywhere these days?
It's not like the teams or the sportspersons are refusing to play each other in ICC tournaments. It's not like Pakistan serials or actors aren't topping the charts in India, It's not like we aren't humming to Pakistani music anymore.
Why should a fight between foreign policies affect the people? Why should terrorism take away what took years for the countries to build? Let sports unite us and not divide us.
