India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test Live: Problem for India
This test, if it ends in a draw, will cause a major headache for India. Here's Why
As it stands, India lead the WTC standings with a percentage points (PCT) tally of 71.67 after 10 matches, putting them in a prime position to make their third consecutive final. A 2-0 series win over Bangladesh would have left India needing only three more wins from their remaining eight matches to secure a spot in the WTC final.
However, with rain looming large over the second Test, a draw could complicate India's path to the final.
Should this Test ended in a draw, India will need to win five of their next eight Test matches to cement their place in the WTC final, assuming other contenders for a top-two finish do not drop points.
Bad news! Rain is back. Overnight rain and no sun has not helped matters either. There was brief period where there was no rain but the covers were not taken off. The situation remains grim.
There is no rain and no drizzle. But there are no players too in the stadium too. This may sound odd but it is what it is. The water on the covers is too much.
Only three super-soppers are being used. Some reports say that one among them was brought from Lucknow. The super soppers were used from 11am. There is no sun though which means it is taking longer to dry the covers.

Even some Bangladesh players have taken up their bags, live visuals show. Are they leaving too? Commentator Abhinav Mukund stays hopeful of a match today.
Live visuals show that whole ground is under covers. The covers were being taken off but it is back. When the covers were off, there were a few patches which were quite damp and the umpires were having a close look at it.
That is not the news that cricket fans would have wanted to hear in the morning but it is what it is. No one has control over the elements. The ground-staff did a good job on Day 1. As and when the conditions improve, hopefully, it would not take long to play to start.
In the afternoon also, there are high chances of rain. Overall, rain may not allow a full day's play even today. With overcast conditions, will Indian pacers be smart enough to take advantage? They were good in phases on the first day though the Bangladesh batters fought back before R Ashwin took the third wicket.
According to weather forecast in Kanpur by accuweather.com, there is a high chance of rain in Kanpur in the morning. The forecast does not improve for the rest of the day too.
